“Knowledge is not skill. Knowledge plus 10,000 times is skill.”

- Shinichi Suzuki

It is never too late to learn violin or to pick it back up after years away. Live your dream. You can do it! I’ll help you.

Adult Learners - Never too late

Have you always wanted to learn to play violin? Now you can! Lessons aren’t just for kids.

Do you have a musical background and would like to learn violin? I would love to teach you. Even if you tried before, give it another try with me as your teacher.

Regardless of the student’s age, we will break everything down into small steps that build on each other. Meanwhile, the student will listen to the recordings daily to internalize the music.

I can teach you note reading and music theory, but first you need to learn how to stand, hold a violin, hold a bow, and put all the skills together to play the violin and produce a beautiful sound. Then we’ll add in reading music while playing.

The biggest challenge that I’ve noticed with adult learners is that we’re busy and we want things to happen right away. This can be especially true for highly accomplished people. But your brain works the same as everyone else’s for putting your new skills into long-term memory. You need the right instruction, and then commit to practicing those skills daily. Listening to the recordings daily is also necessary for internalizing the music. The more time you can commit to daily practice, the faster you will move through the material. (See graph).
